Our Story

Sunny Side Up is a state-of-the-art facility that has been locally owned and operated by the Dower family in North Haven, Connecticut since 1982.  We are an innovative educational facility offering both full and part-time care providing a quality preschool experience with family-friendly full day hours.

Our program meets our goals to ensure that all of the children we service get individualized care and learning experiences to scaffold them to the next level of learning. Our staff is professionally trained and kept up to date on all child development trends. Our teachers gently take the lead from the children by setting a stage to see what children are invested in so that lesson plans and experiences keep children interested and seeking new information. Naturalistic and inquiry-based learning takes place easily in our environment, both inside and outside with inviting materials to investigate. Children at Sunny Side Up have experiences in project studies that give them important information that will prepare them well for their educational journey.
